The Lectern

The brass eagle mounted on a ball swivel was presented to Pollokshields Parish Church in loving memory of King Nelson who died on 30th October 1885, aged 13 years and 5 months.

Ere sin could blight or sorrow
Death came with friendly care
The opening bud to heaven conveyed
And bade it blossom there

The lectern was dedicated on 24th. December 1899
